Switching from home based poker to online poker

Online Texas Hold'em has taken the world by storm in the past few years. In case you've been left behind, we are going to get you caught up to speed with the world of online texas hold'em poker. I'm going to assume that you have a working knowledge of the game of texas holdem and only talk about the differences between online and offline texas holdem.

There are several major differences between online texas holdem and the texas holdem you've played for years at your friends house. First of all, there are no tells in online poker. Secondly, the software interface is one of the most important things in online poker. And lastly, you can always find an online game.

What happened to all of the tells?

There are lots of people that will tell you that there are still tells in online poker. I don't believe this one bit. They will say that if someone bets quick or slow, you will be able to get a feel for their play. Well, what about internet connections? If someone has a slow connection, they will play intermittently. In other words, sometimes bet slow and sometimes bet quickly. This just isn't reliable enough, so there are no tells in online texas holdem.

Software interface, the most important thing

The software interface allows you to do, and not do, everything at the poker table. This can be a good thing and a bad thing. For one, you are limited to the confines of the poker software. You are only allowed to do whatever the software programmers have allowed you to do. Fortunatly, there are some really good programs out there and everything is there except the feel of the felt and the chips in your hand.

A big advantage of online poker over at home poker is, there is never any mistake over who won the pot. Have you ever miscalled a hand and lost because of it? Well, that will never happen in online poker.

There is always a game online

Unlike your buddies house, there is always a game that you can play from the convenience of your own home. Just log on to your favorite online poker room and you will see tens of thousands of people online playing at thousands on tables.

Premiership betting review - 9 april 2006

Manchester United look set to push Chelsea all the way for the Premiership title following a convincing 2-0 win over Arsenal. Wayne Rooney struck confidently after 53 minutes while Ji Sung Park’s first league goal on 77 earned three precious points at 11/10.

Chelsea brushed aside West Ham United 4-1 at Stamford Bridge despite falling a goal behind and being reduced to 10 men early on. Defender James Collins gave the 12/1 Hammers a dream start after nine minutes and Maniche saw a straight red for a lunging tackle on Lionel Scaloni shortly after.

But two goals in as many minutes from Didier Drogba on 28 and Hernan Crespo on 30 put Chelsea back in control. Further strikes from John Terry on 53 and William Gallas on 68 ensured the 3/10 on a home win was never in doubt.

Liverpool recorded a fifth straight win as Bolton Wanderers suffered a fourth consecutive defeat as they succumbed 1-0 at Anfield. Robbie Fowler celebrated his 31sy birthday by netting the decisive goal for the 8/15 Reds on the stroke of half-time.

Tottenham Hotspur maintained their credentials for a Champions League place next season with a 2-1 win against Manchester City. Paul Stalteri gave 8/13 Spurs the lead a minute before the break while Michael Carrick added a second on 49. Georgios Samaras hit back three minutes later but Martin Jol’s side eased to victory.

Birmingham City’s good run of form continued as they picked up a useful point at Wigan Athletic. Paul Jewell’s side, without a home win this year, took the lead through Andreas Johansson three minutes after the break but David Dunn earned a 13/5 draw on 76.

Portsmouth salvaged a point against Blackburn Rovers. Craig Bellamy gave Rovers the lead after 32 minutes but Lomano LuaLua levelled four minutes before the break. Bellamy put the visitors in front again on 62 but substitute Svetoslav Todorov earned Pompey a share of the points at odds of 9/4 with 12 minutes left.

West Bromwich Albion saw two precious points slip from their grasp as they drew 0-0 with rivals Aston Villa in the Midlands derby. The draw, available before kick-off at 23/10 before, mean Brian Robson’s side remain two points adrift of safety.

Sunderland's crunch-game against Fulham was abandoned after 21 minutes because of bad weather conditions at the Stadium of Light. Referee Mike Riley abandoned proceeding after 21 minutes after heavy snow made the pitch unplayable. Brian McBride gave the 5/4 Cottagers the lead but the result will not stand.

Understanding texas holdem poker

Texas Holdem is actually quite easy to learn. This is perhaps why the game is becoming quite the rage in card rooms all over the world whether online or offline. In the Texas Holdem poker, the dealer gives two faced-down cards, which is called the hole cards or the pocket cards in poker lingo. After which, the players are dealt with 5 faced-up cards, which is called community cards. At the final round of betting, players must make the best hand out of the seven cards that they are dealt with, the two cards given faced down and the five cards given faced-up.

The process

For the first round of betting, two faced-down cards are given. Three are then supplied facing up at the middle of the table. These cards can be used by other players to make their hands strong. This is known as the flop. A round of betting is done after this. The fourth card is dealt with faced down and betting is again opened. This is called the fourth street or the turn card. The fifth and final card is dealt again at the center of the table and the last round of betting will then occur. This final card is called the river card. Players have the option to bet, to check, to raise or to fold.

Players that are in immediate left of the dealer are called the small blind (referring to the nearest) and the big blind (referring to the farthest positions). Players that want to enter the hand should call the big blind so that they can stay in the game. Otherwise they will have to fold.

As mentioned before, players who have the best hand will win the pot. The best hand combinations will of course depend on the standard poker hands. In case of ties, which often happens with this variant of poker, players will split the pot money.

Types of Betting

There are three types of betting in Texas Holdem Poker. In the Limit Holdem betting structure, the amount that a player will bet or raise will be limited to amounts that are already specified at the start of the game. Small blind and big blinds will have specific amounts that they can bet on the first two rounds of betting. On the third and succeeding betting rounds, the bets will be raised in specified increments, for instance, two-dollar increments. After turn and river betting will of course be more expensive.

Spread limit Holdem Poker, on the other hand, is much the same as Limit Holdem except for one thing, the raising of bets will not be according to a specified amount but instead according to a certain range or “spread,” the term used in poker games.

Another kind of betting structure is the Pot Limit Holdem, which limits the player’s maximum bet. In this structure, a player’s bet cannot exceed the total amount accumulated in the pot.

In the no limit holdem betting structure, there is no limit on the amounts that players can bet or raise. This can be difficult for players who also depend on the size of the betting to guess the strength of the hand of their opponents. Because there are no limits and no ranges, they have no way of knowing if the player is confident with his hand or just a plain big casino spender.

Do not gamble on your gaming supplies

Gaming, poker and roulette have a very unique history in American society. When most of think about gaming and history we might conjure up ideas of the Old West, Cowboys and dingy bars. Like everything else in history gaming has progressed in terms of supplies, customization and improved products. It doesn't matter if you are having a few friends over for a friendly game of poker or you are a gaming industry because there are new products available for you.

Let us say that you desire to set up a nice little poker table in your finished basement or that you are attempting to revamp a casino. Even though the choices of products can be endless you may find services to be disjointed, having little ability to customize and multiple places to purchase all of your supplies. What if you could buy poker chips, pokers tables, poker table tops, custom chips, dining top tables, different color felts, high quality poker furniture, and just about anything else related to the poker game at a single place? You would be able to save time purchasing from this single source and money by purchasing all of your products from a single source.

Dealing a poker game is more then simply shoving some cards across the table at your guests it is about style, image and quality. If you don't have these essential elements of a good game few people will be able to engage themselves deeply in the entertainment experiences. For example, how long will someone play a game of poker if his or her back hurts from a poor chair or they have no place to put their feet? Having the proper equipment will affect how long people stay, how much money they spend, whether they enjoyed the game and whether or not they will come back.

The proper equipment doesn't need to cost you tens of thousands of dollars. The American Gaming Supply at AmericanGamingSupply dot com offers just about everything you would ever want in their large selection of roulette tables, poker tables and craps tables. They even have customizable poker chips as well as standard poker chips.

You won t mind calling bingo would you

:
A passionate heart termed it ‘Bingo’
Just seconds, that was what they were left with. The players stood amidst the growing sense that there was just one among them who could survive. Yes, I’d rather say survive, as the heated urgency with which men and women engaged themselves to go play the best slots, to mark their grid and to form the sequence, all reflected the pure passion that the game of Bingo had to offer. And then there was a call, Bingo! The voice that marked the dissonance in the efforts of people who tried in vain to spot their grid with each opening of the slot. And that name had in it the history of a passionate heart calling out Bingo rather than beano, which was its initial identify. Now the popular Bingo has emerged as the best game of chances, able to prefix your name with a handsome sum of money.

Online bet enormity

Far from the world of casinos, away, yonder in any cave, with the web accessible, let it be made clear; you are never far from the game of Bingo. So, for those who are used to the lottery online, the fact has to be put forward that Bingo after all forms the basis of these games. How? Just like the Bingo cards that you are given to play with in the club, tickets are sold for the online version for which you get a receipt. With each slot drawn, you are to form the sequence in the ticket and the resulting winner takes his price. That’s how online Bingo works and well does it work indeed without the Bingo cards. What to watch for when each time the slots is taken online is the enormity of the bet that you have at hand.

Fetching a fortune

The affair at hand has the momentum worthy to fetch you a fortune; that’s the guarantee of Bingo. The relation blooms and the chill of victory blossoms amidst the chaos that reflects with the tension mounding up under the calls. And that’s exactly the reason why Bingo online gains popularity. Each time the caller makes the call, you are made to go one step ahead to earn the treasure. We, however, would recommend the game for only the brave at heart; this is an absolute ‘no’ for the souls that are bereft of the last strings of courage. Tough men play the game tough and the speedster uses his ultimate strength; there starts Bingo, there start the battle, the slot has been arranged; would you like to call Bingo?
